First comes first...

Hello one and all (emphasis on the one--mom,)this is officially the first of what will hopefully be many blogging updates on the new life of Mr. and Mrs. Bass. Love the sound of that? Me too! The picture is from our honeymoon. Just thought I'd include one for fun.
As of late, no big news. Just working and eating and sleeping as usual. School starts soon and will throw what has finally become a consistent schedule for a loop and initiate an entirely new one. Senior year baby!!! Who knew I'd be sitting in my own apartment waiting for my husband to come home from work and considering what to cook for dinner right now? Not me. I fully expected the "senior year, baby" statement to immediately follow a shot of vodka on the beach at my last college summer blowout. But not in the least. My, how my life has taken an unusual turn. I couldn't be happier about it, by the way.
This weekend Derrick and I will travel the familiar three hour drive to my parent's house. I can't wait to see all of the little furry fluff balls and be greeted by the jumping and barking of my sweet puppies. I'll also get to see my brother and new sister and my sister and new brother. Ha, kind of funny. That of course will include my precious baby nephew Jaiden, newly 2, who I can't wait to see and hear say "Aunt Ashwey!" Then, last but not least, I'll get to run into my loving mommy's arms and get a pat on the head and a "Hi, sweet pea" from Rob, my stepdad. Ahh, what a nice weekend to look forward to!
